GLUE Spec - draft 8 available

Hi everybody, me and Balazs have worked most of the part of today to incorporate the comments from the two sessions of OGF 21 into the current GLUE spec draft. A new version is available with revision in all the main entities. A section about auxiliary entities was also added. http://forge.ogf.org/sf/docman/do/downloadDocument/projects.glue-wg/docman.… Next week we will start weekly phoneconferences to discuss 2/3 entities per telecon with related attributes and relationships. Before each telecon we will ask participants to provide instances of the various classes with example values related to real use cases. More details will be provided. draft 9 + XML Schema implementation for AdminDomain, Location and Contact

Hi everybody, following our today's telecon, I've applied the small number of changes to the spec document: http://forge.ogf.org/sf/docman/do/viewDocument/projects.glue-wg/docman.root… we have also updated the XML Schema definitions for the AdminDomain, Location and Contact classes and the related instance for CNAF Tier 1 centre: http://forge.cnaf.infn.it/plugins/scmsvn/viewcvs.php/glue/xml/?root=omii-eu… please, provide examples as well. They are the real testbed for our work and they will enable us to follow the right path in this work. OGF 21 and new GLUE Specification draft

Hi everybody, for tomorrow, there are two GLUE sessions dedicated to discuss the GLUE model: http://www.ogf.org/gf/event_schedule/index.php?id=901 http://www.ogf.org/gf/event_schedule/index.php?id=902 we have also a joint info modeling session this afternoon: http://www.ogf.org/gf/event_schedule/index.php?id=903 a new draft containing an initial allocation of attributes from GLUE 1.x and NorduGrid schemas is available in the document repository: http://forge.ogf.org/sf/docman/do/viewDocument/projects.glue-wg/docman.root… Such a draft is an important step forwards since last OGF. Concerning our timeline, we wish to be able to go public comments by OGF22, therefore the work between now and the next OGF is really important. In order to achieve this goal, we will start regular weekly phoneconferences. Looking to meet those of you that are at OGF during the GLUE sessions. Network Markup Language Working Group (NML-WG)

Hi all, Sorry for the wide distribution. We wanted to make you aware (remind you in some cases) of the new working group called the Network Markup Language WG (NML-WG.) From the charter: "The purpose of the Network Mark-up Language Working Group is to combine efforts of multiple projects to describe network topologies, so that the outcome is a standardised network description ontology and schema, facilitating interoperability between different projects." The relationship of this group to the NM-WG is obvious as network measurement are a key user of representations of network topology. For the GHPN, those interested in dynamic Grid networks should be interested in the NML-WG as it represents a basis for topology exchange and pathfinding. Essentially, many groups have a need to represent network elements, and we believe that a single representation is ideal. That's a little misleading in that various levels of resolution make sense at different times, but some of us have the sense that a single representation framework can accomplish that. For more details, to participate, or to throw fruit and tell us the problem is solved/unsolvable/irrelevant or just plain out of our feeble depth, please join us in Seattle at OGF21. best regards, Martin and Paola

GLUE Spec - draft 5 available

Hi everybody, me and Balazs have produce a cleaned-up draft of GLUE Spec is available in the document repository: http://forge.ogf.org/sf/go/projects.glue-wg/docman.root.drafts This contains an updated "Main Entities" diagram based on the on-going discussion with the reference model working group (tomorrow we will have another joint telecon to continue the integration discussion). The Computing Element section was also cleaned-up and aligned with the main entities diagram. By the end of this week, we plan to release a mature draft that can be used for discussion at the next OGF (next week).
