Forwarding this to all OGF groups as this is a major milestone. Daffodil is an open source project that implements the OGF Data Format Description Language standard. Initially started as a collaboration between IBM and the US national Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), the community has grown to include a wide cross-section of participants from several portions of the software and data processing communities. The general nature of the DFDL specification allows comprehensive description of arbitrary structured data formats and is useful for building a wide variety of modern data handling tools. Call for OGF group meetings at upcoming advanced computing conferences

Dear OGF group members and participants, After a long delay while we re-calibrated our relations with working groups, we are interested once again in co-sponsoring activities at conferences and workshops related to high performance and high availability advanced distributed computing. Opportunities are available at the 2017 SASO/ICAC conferences, Part of FAS* - Foundations and Applications of Self* Systems co-located with the International Conference on Cloud and Autonomic Computing (ICCAC), to be held at the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, USA 18-22 September 2017 (http://autonomic-conference.org) and at the 2017 IEEE/ACM Utility and Cloud Computing (UCC, http://ucc-conference.org) and Big Data Computing And Technology (BDCAT, http://bdcat-conference.org) conferences to be held in Austin, Texas, USA 5-8 December, 2017. The ICCAC conference includes the 5th International Workshop on Autonomic Management of high performance Grid and Cloud Computing (AMGCC'17), and the UCC and BDCAT conferences are expected to include several workshops of interest to the OGF community. We are also aware of plans for NSI group meetings and related activities to be held at the TNC17 Networking Conference to be held in Linz, Austria 29 May - 2 June 2017 (https://tnc17.geant.org) We would be interested interested in hearing of any workshops or conferences at which OGF groups would like to meet, or of interest in a plenary OGF meeting of the sort previously held at various locations throughout the world. Dear OGF working group participants. As part of our ongoing liaison activities with other organizations, we periodically send and receive updates on work going on in related other organizations. Please see the update from the Cloud Standards Customer Council below, which includes links to several white papers on topics that may be of interest. PEARC17 (formerly XSEDE17) conference invitation, OGF meeting options and opportunities

Dear OGF working group and general community members, Please see the announcement below for the PEARC’17 conference to be held July 9-13, 2017 in New Orleans, taken from its web site. The PEARC conference series combines a number of previously separate and consortium meetings and workshops with the XSEDE annual conference, and incorporates several new elements. all of which should be interesting to the OGF community. As you know, much of the XSEDE software infrastructure as well as a number of other important projects have in the past been based in large part on OGF standards and/or are documented in OGF publications, and we are always interested in helping the community to document, capture and describe the best available practices in advanced computing. OGF is willing to pursue the option of arranging opportunistic group meetings and proposing workshops at this event to take advantage of the opportunity to meet with each other and our colleagues in the context of this conference.
