Status report: Progress on both the charter and WSNR (WS Naming resolution). RNS moved back to GFS until through document publication, i.e., after public comment Resolution modification to support base profile use case done and discussed Open issue remains "names" - which are just a string. Hi all, GFSG is now deliberating on WG approval. Attached is the final charter draft submitted by Andrew. https://forge.gridforum.org/projects/ogsa-wg/document/naming-wg-charter/en/1 Stay tuned. ---- Hiro Kishimoto Hiro Kishimoto wrote:

The charter doesn't speak to the separation of WS-RenewableReferences into a separate specification, which I think is important. At 03:04 PM 6/16/2005 +0900, Hiro Kishimoto wrote:

Hi Ian,
The charter doesn't speak to the separation of WS-RenewableReferences into a separate specification, which I think is important.
The following text intents to mention that separation.
In order to satisfy the need to define a resolution port-type as soon as possible, the WG may separate WS-naming specification into two specs; ‘WS-Name resolution and the definition of the abstract name. This discussion and decision will be one of the first work items for the group

Ok, thanks. It doesn't seem to me that "renewable references" is necessarily concerned with "name resolution", hence my confusion on that point. At 10:27 PM 6/16/2005 +0900, Hiro Kishimoto wrote:

Hi Ian, I agree "renewable references" and "name resolution" are not exactly the same things. I think the WG will clarify this point also at their early discussion. Thanks, --- Hiro Kishimoto Ian Foster wrote:
