Revised workshop allocation

Dear PC, Following yesterday's call I have revised the allocation of workshops to sessions. Please take a look at this and let me know immediately if you see any problems. We need to confirm dates a.s.a.p. The changes are as follows: - The SOKU workshop is moved from Monday to Tuesday as requested. This also helps to support the Enterprise sessions. - The Dynamic SLAs workshop is swapped with the e-Humanities workshop so that there is more e-Science content on Tuesday. - The "GIN meets standards" session is removed (as requested) and replaced with OMII-Europe. - The e-Science session on Tuesday morning is provisionally assigned to a panel on public awareness of e-science. - I moved the EGR WG session to Wednesday evening to avoid clashing with the other requirements sessions. - We can offer the astronomers an extra session on Wednesday evening. The Monday community sessions are therefore reduced in number - most likely these will be taken by group sessions to replace the ones lost on Tuesday. Dear Bob, Thank you for this message. I have already been contacted by the Unit for Software & Service Architectures and Infrastructures and I am looking to give them a slot on the Wednesday. For the Tuesday keynotes we are looking for users to talk about their experiences in industry and e-Science rather than higher level talks such as these. The OGF20 programme is rather full and I don't have space for another EC keynote. Given that EGEE has a large infrastructure element, perhaps the speaker from the Unit for GEANT and eInfrastructures would be more suited to a slot on Thursday? There will still be OGF20 delegates around on that day so the message will still reach them. Hi Erwin, We got rid of the "Users Meet Standards" session. I thought you still wanted a "GIN meets standards" session, but we can drop that too. Problems with Monday workshops

Dear PC, It seems that some Europeans will have problems travelling on the Monday of OGF20 - see Ramin's message below. Ramin makes the point for industrialists but I assume this will also affect some academics too. Of course, the Monday is also a holiday in the UK and I was rather relying on the international contingent to compensate for this. I have also received a request from Nic Walton saying they would prefer the astronomy workshop to be on the Wednesday; I don't know whether this is for the same reason. We can discuss this on next week's call. If anyone has points to add in the meantime, please do let me know. Next PC telcon

Dear all, This is just a reminder: we don't have a PC telcon booked for this week. The next telcon is scheduled for March 6th at 8am PST / 10am CST / 11am EST / 4pm GMT / 5pm CET / 1am JST / 2am Sydney. In the meantime I am chasing keynote speakers and developing the Grid Means Business track. As in my earlier messages, I would appreciate feedback on the best use of any free sessions. Regarding workshop, I have notified the successful proposers. As a PC, we need to confirm whether we will accept the e-Humanities workshop (in preference to more technology reviews) and that we will not accept the e-health workshop. Please mail me directly if you are unhappy with either of these decisions.
