Good morning RAAT members,
I hope you are doing great. I copied you in my reply to Bob's email earlier this week. I just want to remind you that this will be our last opportunity to enhance our comments and recommendations. Please feel free to add and make changes to the attached document.
I've asked Bob to give our team until 3/14 to finalize the document.
Thanks, Hung
Hung Nguyen 3/9/2011 2:55 PM >>> Hello Bob,
I hope you are doing great. Thank you very much for your question. Based on the RAAT's diverse in opinions at Monday's meeting, I think the team will have to tweak version v0.5 report before we submit the finalized version as v1.0.
Please give us until Monday 3/14/11 to incorporate all the changes that were discussed this past Monday.
RAAT members: Please let Gregg and I know of your final comments before the report is submitted to Bob as the final deliverable.
Thanks, Hung

Quick question about the naming convention on your report. I see it ends in “v0.5”. Is this a final version of your deliverable or version 0.5?
Frankly, I would like to call it your team’s final copy since we will be working on the developing questions based off of the recommendations.

Good afternoon Reference Architecture Analysis Team (RAAT) members,
Based on your analyses and comments, the attached is a MS Word document containing our draft comments and recommendations. Gregg Brown will lead the discussion on Monday, March 7. Please let Gregg and I know if you have additional comments or recommendations after Monday's meeting.
On behalf of Bob Bohn, I would like to thank you for your hard work, time, and effort. I would like to also recognize Cary Landis for his inputs and help in QAing the draft document.
Thanks again and have a pleasant weekend.
Sincerely, Hung Nguyen.

Yes; depicting any of these layers (to the extent that they in fact are layers, which can be debated) as blocks is difficult. The L-shaped blocks shown are intended to indicate that these can be used in ways that bypass the others and proceed directly to the underlying fabric. But that also can be debated. Can you suggest another way to emphasize the role of data transport, container- and content-level access in cloud infrastructures? Alan On Mar 11, 2011, at 12:30 PM, Michael Behrens wrote:
I like the DaaS layer, but sense that it may best if it were depicted vertically against the other services (depending on scope)...or just perhaps adjacent to SaaS. Also, I'm not sure that PaaS should be depicted beneath SaaS and DaaS. Alan Sill wrote:

I presume a platform's monitoring capabilities are part of "Services Management" I imagine it is not intended but one could read the diagram concluding that only open interfaces are offered to "Cloud Consumers" Would "Service Developer" be better placed outside of "Cloud Provider", given that there are 3rd party service developers? Or is the service developer in the diagram responsible for the development of the "Cloud Provider"'s service? Hi, I just wanted to clarify this document is not a recommended replacement for the current Reference Architecture. It is a set of recommendations based on a mixture of commercial and RAs from standards bodies that are used as talking points. There still needs to be a vetting process to see which aspects of the recommendations will be considered to influence the current NIST RA. cheers, gary On 3/11/2011 11:06 AM, Alan Sill wrote:
