[Fwd: Re: [ggf-office] XML Schema locations]

Info on choosing xml namespaces is here. It's only draft, but if we can get compliance with this, it seems like the right thing to do. --- Jim -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [ggf-office] XML Schema locations Date: Wed, 07 Sep 2005 13:26:24 -0500 From: Steve Crumb <scrumb@ggf.org> To: Jim Pruyne <jim_pruyne@hp.com>, office@ggf.org References: <431F2C5C.7090005@hp.com> Jim, There is a document that is nearing public comment that can be downloaded at: https://forge.gridforum.org/tracker/download.php?group_id=90&atid=414&file_id=655&aid=1570 I *think* this document will answer your question. When writing XML Schema, we typically need to provide a URI to identify the schema namespace. By convention, this is usually a URL where the schema is actually located so it can be downloaded by people to inspect or by tooling. Does GGF have any plans to manage these URI's and host schema for working groups who's specs. include XML schema? Is there a guideline for how the URI should be formatted and how they are allocated to the groups?
Thanks.

That's the formatting and picking a namespace, not the location information issue ... now, stick with wsag or go to graap? What if we produce more than one spec (negotiation, claiming etc.) Propose wsag, since more meaningful. Heiko ----- Heiko Ludwig, Dr. rer. pol. In the light of this discussion and to find a fast solution for our concluding spec work, I propose the name space http://schemas.ggf.org/graap/2005/08/ws-agreement for the current spec.
