Hi Folks, Usual reminder for the usual meeting, except last week we finished our first pass through the issues list. I believe that the next piece of process should be to review progress on all of the tracker items. It would be useful to agree priorities and dependencies for them. Perhaps a good place to start would be the documents that Geoff sent out today. Unfortunately I cannot join until 9.30 so I would be grateful if someone could take notes for me? Proposal for the use of Variables in DFDL

Hi, Attached is a document that describes a proposal to use variables in DFDL. This came out of discussions on tracker item 1699 (Parameters and keying). I have also updated the documents on Choices and Wildcards to incorporate variables. Any feedback would be appreciated. Big news: we completed the first pass of the issues list (Hurray!) Three new trackers were identified: - New tracker parser behaviour - New tracker on bit fields - New tracker on pointers I didn't get around to updating the issues list last week. However it has now been brought up to date and all the new trackers have been added.

IBM Watson DFDL prototype available!

Dear fellow DFDL enthusiasts, I am pleased to announce that the IBM Watson "minimal DFDL" prototype can now be downloaded from the public IBM alphaWorks site! It is part of the "Virtual XML Garden" release that is available from http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/virtualxml The DFDL prototype is documented in the "Virtual-XML-Garden/samples/dfdl/DFDL.html" file of the download. For those of you that will attend the XML 2005 conference, I will give a TUTORIAL on DFDL in the morning of Friday, November 18, based on this prototype. If you wish me to reference *your* DFDL implementation then drop me a note and I'll make sure the tutorial attendees learn of it. New Watson DFDL tutorial and prototype

Dear all, My DFDL variant prototype (which I have described to you in a couple of earlier incarnations) is about to be released later this week (on www.alphaWorks.ibm.com) along with a tutorial introduction, both for use at my XML 2005 DFDL tutorial (http://2005.xmlconference.org/tutorials/fridayam#4) I would like to include references/links to other publically available DFDL implementations and tutorial documentation. If you wish your implementation or tutorial referenced from my tutorial then please send me a message! Messages received by Wednesday morning (EST) can even be included in the documentation included with the prototype.
