New document published: SAGA API Extension: Information System Navigator API

OGF Community: A new document has been published in the OGF series. All OGF documents (including any that are open for public comment) may be found here: http://www.ogf.org/gf/docs/ * GFD-R-P.195 "SAGA API Extension: Information System Navigator API." S.Fisher, A. Wilson. Via SAGA-WG Abstract: This document specifies an Information System Navigator API extension to the Simple API for Grid Applications (SAGA), a high level, application-oriented API for grid application development. This Information System Navigator API is motivated by a number of Use Cases collected by the OGF SAGA Research Group in GFD.70, and by requirements derived from those Use Cases, as specified in GFD.71. Though motivated by the need to allow users to find information about services additional to that available via the SAGA Service Discovery API it is not dependent upon the Service Discovery API and is applicable to any information system that can be mapped to an entity relationship model. -- Greg Newby, OGF Editor Dr. Gregory Newby, Director of the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center Univ of Alaska Fairbanks-909 Koyukuk Dr-PO Box 756020-Fairbanks-AK 99775-6020 e: gbnewby AT alaska.edu v: 907-450-8663 f: 907-450-8603 w: www.arsc.edu/~newby

OGF Community: I am pleased to announce that two documents have completed the process to become Grid Recommendations. This is the step after becoming Grid Proposed Recommendations, and involves demonstration of experience with implementation, along with other requirements mentioned in GFD #152. These two documents may be found here: http://www.ogf.org/gf/docs/ * GFD-R #76, "Web Services Data Access and Integration - The Relational Realisation (WS-DAIR) Specification, Version 1.0" * GFD-R #74, "Web Services Data Access and Integration - The Core (WS-DAI) Specification, Version 1.0" Thanks to the DAIS-WG and numerous authors, editors, and contributors to their efforts to achieve this significant milestone. -- Greg Newby, OGF Standards Editor Dr. Gregory Newby, Director of the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center Univ of Alaska Fairbanks-909 Koyukuk Dr-PO Box 756020-Fairbanks-AK 99775-6020 e: gbnewby@alaska.edu v: 907-450-8663 f: 907-450-8603 w: people.arsc.edu/~newby
