Dear OGF community and work group members, Please see the call for abstract submissions below for the upcoming NIST Cloud Computing Forum & Workshop VIII, July 7-10, 2015. At this event, as a slight departure from previous events, NIST is issuing a call for abstracts and will select among these some participants for presentation. Please feel free to submit your own work. If you would like to present on behalf of an OGF working group or community group effort in an official way, please contact us ASAP so that we can provide you with template materials and help you prepare and present the most effective abstract and presentation. Fwd: XSEDE15: Registration now open and request for future hosting opportunities for OGF events

Dear OGF colleagues, We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at OGF 44, coming up May 21-22 at the EGI Conference taking place that entire week (May 18-22) in Lisbon, Portugal. This will be a dynamic, active event engaging with the EGI community and will include a Cloud Plugfest. Looking ahead, there will be opportunities for OGF group to meet at several upcoming events of interest, including XSEDE 2015 July 26-30 in St. Louis (USA) and at other locations in the summer/fall/winter 2015 time frame. For example, we had successful Cloud Plugfest and OGF group meetings at the FAS*/CAC conference inLondon in September 2014, which will be held in Boston this year also in September, and have been invited to do similar activities at the UCC 2015 conference in Cyprus in December 2015, and the OGF NSI group is planning to meet with GLIF at their meeting at the end of September 2015 in Prague. As a short-term action item, you please respond either directly to me or to events(a)ogf.org<mailto:events@ogf.org> if there is interest by your group in meeting at any or all of the events mentioned above? IEEE Cloud Profiles Survey Request - please fill out with respect to OGF standards

Dear OGF working group and community group members, Please see the attached request from John Messina of the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), who is chairing a group in IEEE that is doing a survey of the applicability of various standards to different aspects of cloud computing. Please consider filing out the survey at the indicated link, which is https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1qiIKMfmKdEi8PGzcVJyGg-x5Ci12YOMfe8BjMj15X6… to give your opinion regarding the applicability of various OGF and/or other standards to the indicated categories. Note that you can add other standards to the list, whether from OGF or elsewhere, if you would like to do so to indicate their applicability as well. Attention: Early bird registration to the EGI Conference in Lisbon including OGF 44 extended to 12 April 2015!

Dear OGF group members and participants and interested parties: Please see the important message below from Tiziana Ferrari, the EGI.eu Technical Director, announcing an extension of the early bird deadline for registration to the EGI Conference 2015 in Lisbon. The conference runs Monday 18 May through Friday 22 May 2015 and will include two days of OGF meetings, possibly to include a Cloud Plugfest, on 21 and 22 May. The venue is attractive and the costs of attendance are low, and the opportunity to engage with EGI as it enters its new phase of recently funded work should be fascinating. We really hope that all of our colleagues will take the time to attend and will register as soon as possible in order to lock in the best possible rate for attending. Details of the OGF meeting including a Call for Session Proposals are located at the OGF 44 web pages at the following link(*). I hope in particular that the OCCI, NSI, GLUE and other active groups will take the opportunity to coordinate considerable work at this event. Your registration for the EGI Conference 2015 will cover all costs associated with attending OGF 44 and the other co-located events below. Please contact your group leaders and/or area directors (visit the ogf.org web pages if you need to know who they are), and feel free to propose new work on new and recent topics of interest.
