We expect a large number of OGF groups as detailed in previous messages to meet during this conference. Links to the co-located events and to the Call for Session Requests (including BoFs, special group meetings, requests for new or special groups, etc.) are on the OGF web site at https://www.ogf.org/ogf/doku.php/events/ogf-42 . Please submit any remaining session requests as soon as possible so that we can finalize the schedule. OGF Folks, Short summary of this message: - Final Call for Session Requests for OGF 42 in London - Registration rates go up Aug. 1 for the CAC conference including OGF 42 - register now for best rates! - Details on the schedule so that you can plan your travel arrangements Details: The registration deadline for early rates of Aug. 1 for the CAC 2014 conference is fast approaching. At this time we have session requests from OCCI, DRMAA (both individually and together), JSDL, BES, GLUE2 and several of the Security groups (FedSec, IDEL, CAOPS etc.) thought he exact session dates for the later are not completely determined. We also have BoF suggestions for sessions on "Use of Container Technology in Grids and Clouds" and for a repeat of our BoF on Identity Management Technologies from OGF 41, as well as some possible others still being finalized. If there is interest for other sessions, now is the time to get the corresponding requests in. We will also have a demonstration and tutorial from the DFDL group, which will be an extended session that we hope a large number of people will attend. (Don't forget that the NSI-WG and other related OGF networking groups will be meeting at the NorduNet conference later in the month instead of at OGF-42 this time.) In terms of schedule, our plans at present are to concentrate OGF meetings Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of the week with optional single sessions Monday and Friday, and use parallel sessions during the middle of the week as needed to get all of the group meetings done. We will also have an OGF Town Hall and OGF plenary meeting, including a report of the Nominating Committee and other open-mike sessions as needed, most likely Wednesday. The Cloud-related portions of the meeting will be clustered early in the week to allow those who may need to go to Brussels for the CloudWATCH concertation Thursday; and consequently the JSDL, BES, GLUE and other sessions will be scheduled Wednesday and Thursday. We hope to extend meeting room space to Friday despite the workshop that day to allow the Security Area group meetings to be held in the latter part of the week as some who would like to attend those meetings will be tied up earlier in the week at another meeting in Poland. Overall it looks like a full week packed with meetings or activities at the co-located conferences, with the sessions grouped as closely as possible by themes to allow those who want to attend on one-, two- or three-day passes to get the most our of their registration. Don't forget that a full-week registration at CAC 2014 will cover attendance at all OGF and CAC sessions, including the workshops Monday and Friday on cloud security and on autonomic management of grids and clouds, respectively. Preliminary information for OGF 42 8-12 Sep 2014 in London, and a reminder of the schedule for OGF 41

Dear colleagues, Many of you especially in Europe may be on vacation or about to leave, so it is important to call your attention right away to the information on OGF 42 to take place the week of 8-12 September in London: https://www.ogf.org/ogf/doku.php/events/ogf-42 . The time is now to make your plans to attend this event, book your lodging and look into attending the co-located conferences mentioned on that page. We have been able to arrange for OGF members to register at the same rate as IEEE members for the CAC 2014 conference. 1-, 2-, and 3-day passes are available, and these options (including the full-week registration) will also allow access to all OGF meetings that take place on the day or days covered. For those who plan to attend OGF meetings and portions of the conference, which also includes two associated topical workshops as described on the event page, these are good options. Session requests are still coming in. We will continue to work on the schedule and will look into the option for an OGF-only rate for those who do not plan on attending any of the co-located conference sessions. At this point it looks like a full week or at minimum, multiple days of OGF meetings will take place. It is not completely certain that we can arrange an OGF-only rate, but we will continue to try. Meanwhile, the discounted full conference rate mentioned above includes access to both the CAC 2014 and to OGF 42, which represents a good value and provides a basis for cost planning that will certainly cover all options. In terms of schedule, at this point we can expect to have multiple meetings of the DRMAA and OCCI working groups, both individually and as a separate set of sessions for joint work, multiple sessions of the GLUE, JSDL and BES groups, as well as VOMS-Proc, Federated Security and CAOPS - the latter possibly in joint sessions by video coordinated with attendees of the EUGridPMA meeting going on in the first part of that week in Poland. There will also be a demonstration and tutorial on use of the Data Format Description Language (DFDL), for which both open source and commercial implementation work exists and that is seeing a lot of recent activity and uptake. Other working group meetings are possible - please get your session requests in ASAP so that we can finalize the exact days for each of these meetings. Call for Session Proposals: OGF 42 at CAC 2012, 8-12 Sep 2014 in London

Open Grid Forum 42 at CAC 2014, London, UK: OGF will meet with all appropriate working groups at the International Conference on Cloud and Autonomic Computing (CAC 2014)<http://autonomic-conference.org/> to take place September 8-12, 2014 at Imperial College<http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/campusinfo/southkensington> in London, UK. Registration for CAC 2014<https://www.regonline.com/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=1569519> includes and covers attendance at all OGF 42 co-located sessions. Other co-located conferences for this event include the 8th IEEE International Conference on Self-Adaptive and Self-Organizing Systems (SASO 2014)<http://www.iis.ee.imperial.ac.uk/saso2014/> and the 14th IEEE International Conference on Peer-to-Peer Computing (P2P’14)<http://www.p2p-conference.org/p2p14/>. In addition to the other activities at these conferences, OGF will host its own BOF and tutorial sessions, working group and community implementation group meetings on topics related to OGF technologies in a wide variety of areas in advanced distributed computing. Reminder on upcoming OGF events

Dear OGF colleagues, The OGF working groups continue to make progress on documents of importance to the community. As a reminder: OGF’s second event in 2014 will be OGF 41<http://www.ogf.org/dokuwiki/doku.php/events/ogf-41>, to take place during the XSEDE conference<https://conferences.xsede.org/> July 13-18 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The OGF scheduled group meetings<http://xsede14.sched.org/overview/type/open+grid+forum> will run from Tuesday the 14th of July through Thursday the 17th. For details see the OGF 41<http://www.ogf.org/dokuwiki/doku.php/events/ogf-41> pages. We will follow this event fairly closely with OGF 42<http://www.ogf.org/dokuwiki/doku.php/events/ogf-42>, to take place at Imperial College<http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/campusinfo/southkensington> September 8-12 in London, UK. This event is co-located with several other important workshops and conferences, as described on the OGF 42 event pages<http://www.ogf.org/dokuwiki/doku.php/events/ogf-42>. Further details on the exact logistics of registration for OGF 42 will be coming up shortly. Further out, we are looking at hosting a Cloud Plugfest at the UCC 2014 conference to take place in London in December, in addition to the workshops that will take place there, and invite further comments and discussion. In the Spring, we are planning once again to have an OGF all-hands meeting, most likely to take place in Charlottesville, Virginia.
