Register this week for OGF20 and save up to $100
<http://www.ogf.org/OGF20/events_regstrtn_ogf20.php>
http://www.ogf.org/OGF20/events_regstrtn_ogf20.php. Join the 800 Grid
leaders and technologists gathering at this event being held May 7-11 in
Manchester, UK. The five day program includes an exciting array of
opportunities for attendees to learn, outreach, network, and contribute to
the work of our international grid community. Highlights include:
Keynote presentations from Grid luminaries including Tony Hey (Microsoft),
Peter Coveney (University College London), and Mario Campolargo (European
Commission).
The Grids Mean Business Track running on Tuesday, May 8th and Wednesday, May
9th, and will feature Paul Strong, e-Bay, as a keynote speaker, together
with a selection of grid innovators and champions from the UK and around the
world. The track will showcase grid in action and allow attendees to learn
from their peers who are reaping the benefits of grid computing
technologies. Many of the speakers will feature case studies, generating a
real sense of "can do" led by these early adopters. Following the Grids
Mean Business track, all attendees are welcome and encouraged to attend the
OGF20 Enterprise requirements, best practices and developer and vendor
adoption sessions being held on Thursday, May 10th.
The Best Practices working session will review and discuss the draft
document "Best practices to efficiently deploy and manage my Enterprise Grid
infrastructure". The end result of this activity will be the publication of
the first in a series of Enterprise Best Practice documents by the OGF.
OGC-OGF Collaboration Workshop will identify and produce standard,
grid-enabled geospatial information tools in the context of a
service-oriented architecture. There will be presentations from key
stakeholders and potential adopters followed by a panel session to get rough
consensus on specific activities, such as harmonizing the OGC Reference
Model with emerging web services.
The 2nd International Workshop on Campus and Community Grids will provide a
balanced view of connectivity issues between local, regional, national and
international grid endeavours and call on the experiences of the grid
community to ensure that issues are not missed. With the success of
interoperability between National infrastructures, it is important to expand
and connect existent Campus Grid systems to the national grids.
The Program will also include dozens of chartered group sessions advancing
grid specifications, other eScience and Enterprise-related workshops, and a
series of sessions examining Grid issues in the Education and Training
field. Without a doubt, this will be the biggest and most encompassing Grid
event of the year. To view the full program schedule visit
