Dear GGF/EGA Participant, By now you have seen the formal announcement of the completion of the GGF/EGA merger and the creation of the Open Grid Forum (OGF). As the new Executive Director of OGF, I welcome your continued participation in the core processes of the new organization, including the one we are initiating today - the call for nominations for new "at-large" Board of Director members. Participation on the 15-seat board of directors is open to all OGF members via one of two paths - Organizational or At-large. Members that sponsor at the Platinum level are eligible for one of up-to-10 Organizational board seats. All members (including individual members) can nominate candidates for the up-to-5 At-large seats and all members (except Platinum members) are eligible to serve as At-Large directors. Members appointed to the board provide guidance and oversight through their active leadership and participation. At-large board members represent essential voices from our community - helping to provide balance, insight and expertise during board deliberations to enable the success of our mission. Enterprise Grid Alliance and Global Grid Forum Complete Merger To Form Open Grid Forum

Dear GGF and EGA Members, Today we announced that EGA and GGF have signed a definitive agreement to form an exciting new organization called the "Open Grid Forum" (OGF). Also announced was my appointment as President and CEO of our new organization. I am deeply honored to be leading this effort and wanted to personally welcome each of you to the new organization. With today's announcement, we are now ready to complete the final phase of our merger process. During the summer months, we will be working to complete our integration activities including: * Finalizing the Board of Director and Operational leadership * Transitioning toward a single legal, financial and IT infrastructure * Developing the information that best describes our organizational structure and processes * Welcoming new and existing members to our new membership program and benefits * Developing our 2nd half '06 plans and priorities that deliver tangible results to stakeholders As we complete the integration over the next few months, I need each of you to continue the work that you are doing in support of our mission together. Existing GGF and EGA leaders remain in place to facilitate progress during the integration phase. We will continue all technical work and anticipate little if any disruption to group activities. Group chairs will remain group chairs and groups will remain groups and I will continue to place our emphasis on accelerating results. GGF scheduled outage

All - We are planning an outage for most GGF machines Tuesday from 11:00 CDT through early Morning Wednesday. During this time www.ggf.org and forge.gridforum.org will be offline. This will *not* effect email traffic to/from ggf.org or gridforum.org. The outage is for the physical relocation of GGF server equipment to a new location, and may not take the entire scheduled outage to complete. Gridforge downtime & update this weekend

This weekend we will be performing the long-awaited update to GGF's Gridforge software, bringing it to version 4.3 of the Sourceforge package on which Gridforge is based. The new version has improved usability and capabilities, including a new interface and integrated wiki support. The migration will begin Saturday morning (US Central time), and run through Sunday. While forge.gridforum.org may be available during some of this time, please be aware that changes made to the old version after Saturday at 9:00am CDT may not be reflected in the new version. So please consider access you may have at this time to be read-only.
