Thanks for including me in this discussion. The topic of an aggregate accounting record is being discussed in the Usage Record Working group. Donal Fellows (of Manchester University in the UK) is working on version 2 of the UR specification, which is intended to be more conducive to aggregation than the original specification (version 1) was. I would like to continue discussion of the AAR with you and anyone you're working with, within the context of the Usage Record Working Group. I have included the UR-WG on this email. Could you please bring us up to date on what you've been working on and what your plans are? Also, if you have a draft of this document, please pass it on to the group. Hi Xiaoyu,
if its an document which goes into the UR-WG project, you don't need to create a new project (that is what you did). You should do:
- login to grid forge http://forge.ggf.org/ - go to the project home http://forge.ggf.org/sf/projects/ur-wg - click on the 'Document' toll tab (top) - select the right folder the doc should go to - select 'Create' to create a document entry, and upload the document.
To upload documents, you need to be a member of the group. As you were not group member, I made you one (you have two SF logins, xchen and x_chen, I picked xchen).
I Cc Laura McGinnis, who chairs the group. Laura, is that ok?
Hope that helps,
Andre.

hi, Andre:
I am totally confused!
schema which is supposed to be uploaded. If i am right, the schema and draft specification should go to GGF-URWG. So what should i do?

Hi Xiaoyu,
we have been discussion the creation of new GridForge
seems I was somewhat rash to confirm the project creation for you. In fact, we think that projects should not get created unless the respective groups did undergo the correct chartering
I am working for LCG and defined an aggregate accounting projects, and it process, and have
acceptance from their ADs etc.
For chartering a new group, please use
http://www.ggf.org/gf/group_info/charter.php?new
(your GridForge loging is valid there). If a group is created, we will automatically create a GF project page for it.
If you want to have separate projects for work which is done in an existing group, please try first to do that work with that groups project - let us know if that meets any technical challenges.
So, I removed the projects again (fortunately they still seems empty), and hope that you can work on either to create a new group, or to use a current group project.
Best regards, sorry for the confusion,
Andre.

Hi Xiaoyu,
would it be possible to use an acronym for the project, such as 'AAR'? Also, is that intended to be a WG or RG? Then we
would very
much prefer 'AAR-WG' or 'AAR-RG', in order to keep the project naming in GridForge somewhat consistent.
Best regards,
Andre.

A new project was requested.
Title: Aggregate Accounting Record Name:
Description: This project recommends representation format for aggregate usage record that encapsulates high-level view information for different accounting user agents. Extending from GGF-UR, the aggregate schema is to facilitate common extensibility for data sharing between multiple sites and Grid infrastructures. Some element names are redefined from GGF-UR standard for usage conventions in real Grid environment. Although this document does not intend to recommend the usage of an aggregate usage record and underlying transport mechanism, it is proposed to facilitate resource usage service based on implementation experiences and potential issues.
