Hi Jon, I hope I'm still in time for some short comments: - From 2.4.5 to 2.4.9 it only specify the field type. I assume that the field is optional (e.g.: FileCount and DirectoryPath, if I use the information system to create a UR I don't know how many file are in the storage or the directory path to them). - 2.5 Site I agree that this information can be dynamic but when the record is created it belong to a certain site. I think it might be useful to have this extra information. - 2.5 FileNames Not much to say. It is written from the beginning of the document that for this UR definition you don't consider a per file accounting so it make sense that is excluded (I would have liked to have the field as optional but maybe this can be discussed more in OGF) - 2.5 SpaceAvailable I would add that it is also not in the scope of a UR. - 2.5 Transfer Information Indeed it is not strictly storage. But maybe in a more general definition it could make sense. But I agree because StAR is focused only on storage. Unfortunately it's now clear that I won't be at OGF this time. I hope next time to be present. Please send update to the list after OGF. Thank you Andrea On 03/11/2011 12:05 PM, Jon Kerr Nilsen wrote:
Hi,
OGF31 is approaching rapidly and there will be a session on "Next Generation Usage Records". A part of the session will about storage accounting, so I would like to draw your attention to the latest draft of EMI's definition of a storage accounting.

Please not that this is still a draft and not formally approved yet. It may however serve as input to a fruitful discussion.
cheers Jon
