Live from the iGrid 2005 floor --- where I sense a remarkable buzz around
Grid Network Services --- I transmit the Agenda for the upcoming GGF
meeting. See you in a week!
Grid High Performance Networking Research Group (GHPN-RG), Wed October
2:00-3:30, Stuart room.
Agenda
1. Agenda Bashing.
2. Overview of GHPN and the drafts
underway. Progress against milestones [15']

Services, presented by Admela Jukan [20']
https://forge.gridforum.org/docman2/ViewProperties.php?group_id=53&category_id=750&document_content_id=3833
4. Liaison with the Global
Lambda Integrated Facility, presented by Gigi Karmous-Edwards [20']
GNSs are central to the efforts of the GLIF community
5. Short
presentations

services for grid applicatons, a joint effort by AIST, KDDI R&D Labs
and NTT, presented by Michiaki Hayashi, KDDIlabs
- MAking Grid Middleware network-Aware (MAGMA), presented by Hagen
Woesner, Create-Net
In addition to the regular GHPN program, I want to call your attention to
two events of relevance to this community:
- a 60' lecture on Provisioning & Managing a Switching
Infrastructure as a Grid Resource, by Yaron Haviv, Voltaire,
scheduled for Wednesday October 5th 6:00pm as part of the Community
Program;
- the 2nd IEEE/Create-Net GridNets 2005 workshop on October 6-7 in
Boston (
http://gridnets.org/2005/). GridNets is a forum for peer-reviewed
research papers on networks for Grid applications. This event is NOT
associated with GGF. Same city but different venue, different dates
(albeit adjacent dates), and different admission fee structure.
