The goal of services computing is to develop new computing technology and thereby enable more advanced IT/telecommunication services to support business services more efficiently and effectively. IEEE APSCC 2009 is an important forum for researchers and industry practitioners to exchange information regarding advancements in the state of art and practice of IT/telecommunication-driven business services and application services, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future directions of Services Computing. INDUSTRY TRACK AND TOPICS OF INTEREST ------------------------------------- Topics of interest for the IEEE APSCC 2009 industry track include, but are not limited to: - Services Computing Industry Adoption Case Studies + Deployment (including pilot implementation) of services computing concepts and solutions in specific industry verticals, for example: * Aerospace, Automotive, Healthcare, Interactive Digital Media, Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), Supply Chain and Logistics - Services-centric Design and Implementation + Services-based business process management + Service composition and reuse of existing components/services + Servitization of existing software for better reuse or catering for new business models + SOA-based architectures and solution stacks + Software as a Service (SaaS) development - Technology Enablers for Services-centric Business Models + Pay-per-use models + Quality of Service (QoS) + Service Level Agreements (SLAs) + Service packaging for sale (or resale) + Subscription-based models PUBLICATION ----------- In line with previous APSCC editions, IEEE APSCC 2009 conference proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society and indexed by EI (pending confirmation). Post-conference Journal Publications ------------------------------------ A special section or theme will be organized for the IEEE Transactions on Services Computing based on the enhanced versions of the best papers presented at IEEE APSCC 2009. A special issue of the International Journal of Information Systems in the Service Sector (IJISSS) will be organized based on the extended versions of selected high-quality papers presented at IEEE APSCC 2009 (and its associated workshops). IMPORTANT DATES --------------- Paper Submission: June 26, 2009 (23:59 GMT) Author Notification: August 28, 2009 Camera-ready Paper Submission: October 2, 2009 (23:59 GMT) Author Registration: October 2, 2009 (23:59 GMT) IEEE APSCC 2009 Conference: December 7 - 11, 2009 SUBMISSION GUIDELINES --------------------- Authors can choose to submit either regular papers (up to 8 pages) or demonstration-based papers (up to 4 pages, including a description of the demonstration of a system/application). Manuscripts should be prepared according to the IEEE Computer Society Press - Proceedings Author Guidelines. Please visit the latest Services Computing Taxonomy to identify your innovation areas when you prepare your papers. Submissions must be in English and provided as PDF file. The length of manuscripts is limited to 8 pages. Submissions, which deviate from these guidelines, may be rejected without review. Each manuscript will be judged on its originality, contribution to the state-of-practice, technical quality, innovative features of implementation, relevance, and presentation. Authors are required to certify that their paper represents original work and is previously unpublished. Simultaneous submission to any other conference, workshop or journal is strictly excluded. In case a double submission is discovered, the corresponding paper will be rejected immediately. Submitting a paper to IEEE APSCC 2009 means that if the paper is accepted, at least one author will attend the conference to present the paper or demonstration, respectively.
