This post is supported through an EU project, the goal
of which is to investigate software architectures for the collection,
integration and sharing of environmental sensor data.
This post focuses on architecture design and
development, and in particular the role of semantic technologies for
describing and discovering sensor networks and their data products.
Thus, solid understanding of software architectures is a very relevant skill
for this post.
The project is hosted by the Information
Management Group
(http://www.cs.manchester.ac.uk/img)
and combines its strengths in semantic technologies
and sensor data management.
Applicants should have a strong first degree in Computer
Science or a related discipline, and a PhD or equivalent relevant experience.
You
should also have research or development
experience in data
integration, semantic technologies and / or sensor
networks.
The post is available for a period of 3 years. The salary
will fall in the range £27,466 - £33,780 p.a.
