On Wednesday, February 15th at 13:30 we have our security area session, for which we would like to take the opportunity to attract your interest with this invited presentation: Title: Microsoft R&D: Distributed Security for Grids Presenter: Mr. Blair Dillaway, Software Architect, Advanced Strategies and Policy Abstract: This talk will present an overview of distributed security work being done at Microsoft that is relevant to problems faced by the Grid community. It will identity the challenging Grid security problems we are focusing on and review Microsoft technologies that provided a foundation for this work. It will then discuss some of the ways the technologies are being evolved and integrated to create more practical and flexible solutions. In addition, we (your ADs) believe that the security area needs to start looking a little bit into the future[*], to make sure that our activities line up well with the new and emerging needs. This will also be discussed at our area meeting. Hope to see many of you there! Regarding the "Grid meets Shib" meeting, this was a late addition to the agenda (much thanks to Olle for helping get it on the schedule and to GGF for accommodating this), but the goal of the meeting is for the various "Grid meeting Shib" projects to discuss their plans so that we can look for overlap, potential collaboration, etc. Since the meeting wasn't certain until last week, I haven't put out a broad call for participation, but have contacted all the projects that I was aware of. If you have a project in this space, would be interested in giving a short (<10min) presentation and I haven't already contacted you, please contact me ASAP.
