There is another standard effort named SAGA, in the field of eGovernment: http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/79090 http://www.kbst.bund.de/cln_006/nn_836802/Content/Standards/Saga/saga__node.... (sorry, all in German) It's IT, and about distributed applications, and SOA (amongst others). OTOH, its distribution seems limited to Germany at this time.
