
Apologies if you know about this already, but there is a OGSA Byte-IO session on Wed. 11am next week at GGF. They are working on an OGSA style interface for the transfer of bulk data. It's going to be a small spec, just a couple of port types. They are aiming to have a draft recommendation document ready during the summer. One of the things they are providing is a POSIX-like interface for remote files. This might be of interest... Jon.

I hope to attend some of the SAGA sessions as well (clashes permitting). We will be presenting the current status of the ByteIO interfaces at GGF14 and looking for comments. We are also seeking additional use cases - we already have a streams case from some of the SAGA participants but more are always welcome! cheers, neil ByteIO co-chair
