I wanted to communicate that Chris Smith of Platform (TM) Computing has accepted the position of V.P. of Standards for the Open Grid Forum. Chris is a long-time, active member of the OGF, having made significant technical contributions to many of our most successful specifications including: OGSA, JSDL, BES and the HPC Profile. In addition to his deep technical understanding of OGF standards, Chris also has direct experience promoting adoption both within his own organization and the industry at large that will be critical to our future success as a community.

Please join me in wishing Chris all of our support and encouragement as he undertakes his new leadership role.
