Frédéric, This is great! SAGA is having a design team meeting in a couple of weeks and these cases will definitely be read and evaluated. Thanks! --Craig At 12:34 AM 11/30/2004, Frédéric Desprez wrote:
I have 6 application documents. I will compile everything and send them back to you asap. I'm still waiting for 2 more.

To support both GridRPC and the SAGA RG, it would be good to quickly capture some use cases for GridRPC. SAGA is collecting use cases to provide the necessary context for the development of a simple grid API. Any experience with GridRPC would be directly relevant. Given the user base that the Ninf-G, NetSolve, and DIET projects have, there should be some very interesting use cases. I'm sure that the NaReGI project is considering many GridRPC-based applications.
A use case template is attached. All sections apart from use case name and the description of the use case itself (3) may be considered optional. The goal is to get information as quickly as possible with a minimum of effort. If the use case is complex, we would appreciate efforts to split into sub-scenarios where possible, for example in the use case description (3) and in the descriptions of customers (4) and resources (5). In each section we have tried to provide suggestions of questions to try to answer.
Please send the use cases directly to me (lee@aero.org) so I will be sure to see them. I will make sure that they are forwarded to both the gridrpc-wg and saga-rg mailing lists. We are planning a SAGA-RG F2F meeting in mid-December where use cases will be evaluated to scope and prioritize the API so it would be good to have them by then.
Please forward this email to anybody in the NaReGI, Ninf-G, NetSolve, or DIET projects, or anybody that may have an interesting GridRPC use case.
Thanks,
--Craig
P.S. I'm posting a similar request to the gridrpc-wg mailing list. <use_case_template.txt>
