Hi, There are have been no comments on this so far - besides the claim that it is a necessary addition. I see that the title is misleading as it just says "Service Discovery" which has already been through the process rather than "Information System Navigator" which is designed to complement SD. If anybody has any comments now that would be good otherwise we can discuss next week in Brussels. Steve On 27 August 2010 13:51, <antony.wilson@stfc.ac.uk> wrote:

As discussed at OGF29 we are considering proposing an "Information System Navigator" (ISN) API as a further extension to SAGA.
This API has been designed to add value to the org.ogf.saga.sd package. Having selected a service with the org.ogf.saga.sd.Discoverer API, this API provides the means to traverse the information model and retrieve additional data published about that service. Alternatively it is possible to start with a selected entity type rather than a service. An optional filter can be used to restrict the results returned.
This API can be used to navigate any information system that can be represented as an entity relationship model.
An implementation of this API along with a gLite adapter have very recently been deployed on WLCG.
See the user guides and javadoc linked from: http://hepunx.rl.ac.uk/egee/sa3-uk/sd/ to see details of the API.
We have built a web application on top of the SD and ISN APIs, which allows you to navigate around the GLUE 1 and GLUE 2 information models. Our test server can be found here http://rgma03.pp.rl.ac.uk/InfoBrowser/
Having gained experience from producing the implementation and adapter we propose to formalise this as a specification document that we will put forward as an extension to SAGA. Is this something that people would like to see go ahead?
