Call for Events Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems Leipzig, Germany, 1-4 September, 2019 www.fedcsis.org <http://www.fedcsis.org/> The 2019 Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems cordially invites you to consider contributing an Event (conference, symposium, workshop, consortium meeting, project dissemination meeting, special session, etc.). The FedCSIS multi-conference consists of a significant number of recurring Events and it welcomes proposals for new Events until November 20, 2018. The Events can run over any span of time within the conference dates; from half-day to three days. Invitation is extended also to existing events that would like to join the vibrant FedCSIS ecosystem. The FedCSIS Events provide a platform for bringing together researchers, practitioners, and academia to present and discuss ideas, challenges, and potential solutions on established or emerging topics related to research and practice in computer science and information systems. The Events will be selected based on the scientific/technical interest and/or their relevance to practitioners in their topics, the clarity of the proposal in addressing the requested information, the innovativeness of the Event topics, and the fit with the FedCSIS multi-conference program. The FedCSIS 2018 – held in Poznań, Poland – attracted 349 papers, of which 74 were accepted as regular full papers (acceptance rate of approximately 21%). Some events accepted additionally regular short, position and communication papers. FedCSIS 2018 regular full and short papers are being submitted to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, while position and communication papers have been published in a separate volumes of the Annals of Computer Science and Information systems series. Regular and short papers are submitted for indexation in Clarivate Web of Science (where they have been indexed since 2012), as well as to other indexing services, e.g. Scopus, DBLP, etc. Publications As in previous years, FedCSIS preprints will be published on a USB memory stick given to FedCSIS participants. *Only* papers presented during the conference will be submitted to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library (or will appear as position papers, published in a separate volume, which will not be submitted to the IEEE), and posted at the conference WWW site. The IEEE DL proceedings will be published with an ISBN, ISSN, IEEE Catalog and DOI numbers, under a nonexclusive copyright. Such copyright implies that Events' organizers can and, indeed, are strongly encouraged to invite extended and revised papers for post-conference publications in high-quality journals, edited volumes, etc. Position and Communication Paper volumes (separate as each category) will be published with ISBN, ISSN and DOI numbers. Call for Workshops Proposals The 2019 IEEE International Conference on Blockchain (Blockchain-2019) Atlanta, USA, July 14-17, 2019 http://www.blockchain-ieee.org/ Proposals are solicited for workshops to be held in conjunction with the 2019 IEEE International Conference on Blockchain (Blockchain-2019). Each workshop provides a forum to address a specific topic at the forefront of blockchain technology and related research topics. A workshop associated with Blockchain-2019 can be either one full day or half day in length. Proceedings of all the workshops will be available to the workshop attendees. All workshop papers will be included in the main conference proceedings and published by IEEE CPS, which is collected by IEEE Explore and indexed by EI. Submissions of workshop proposals must reach the workshop chair by November 30th, 2018. Call For Paper: a Special Issue ofInformation Scienceson Big Data Privacy The massive deployment of networking, communications and computing technologies has brought us into the era of big data. Huge volumes of data are today generated and collected due to human-computer interaction, device-device communications, data outsourcing, environment sensing and behavior monitoring. Many such data often encode privacy-sensitive information related to individuals and support the inference of a large variety of privacy-sensitive information through the use of data analytics, data mining and machine learning. Thus, preserving privacy in the context of big data is a critical requirement in cyber-space. Obviously, preserving privacy of big data is even more challenging when dealing with many emerging technologies, e.g., Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, edge computing, crowdsourcing and crowdsensing, social networking, and next generation communication systems. Although technologies and theories are widely studied and applied to ensure data privacy in recent years, existing solutions are still inefficient, especially for big data. Preserving privacy of big data introduces additional challenges with regard to computational complexity, efficiency, adaptability, personality, flexibility, fine-graininess and scalability. Big data privacy promises many novel solutions and at the same time, many challenges should also be overcome. This special issue aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss various aspects of big data privacy, explore key theories, investigate significant algorithms, protocols and schemes and innovate new solutions for overcoming major challenges in this significant research area. Its secure design for supporting a distributed computing system with high fault tolerance is attracting wide attention all over the world. Blockchain has a great potential to create new foundations for our socio-economic systems by efficiently establishing trust among people and machines, reducing cost, and increasing utilization of resources. On one hand, blockchain will play an important role for secure decentralization in such emerging fields as Internet of Things, Cyber Physical Systems, edge computing, social networking, crowdsourcing and next generation wireless communications, and even more other fields. On the other hand, its advance should be further evolved in terms of scalability, privacy, efficiency, flexibility, availability and high dependability. Following the great success of IEEE Blockchain 2018, held in July 30 - August 03, 2018, in Halifax, Canada, the 2019 IEEE International Conference on Blockchain (Blockchain-2019) will provide a high-profile, leading-edge forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to present latest advances and innovations in key theories, infrastructure, schemes, and significant applications for the blockchain, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future. Topics The emergence and popularity of blockchain techniques will significantly change the way of digital and networking systems' operation and management. In the meantime, the application of blockchain will exhibit a variety of complicated problems and new requirements, which brings more open issues and challenges for research communities. IEEE Blockchain-2019 will be held on July 14 - July 17, 2019, in Atlanta, USA. The goal of this conference is to promote community-wide discussion identifying the advanced applications, technologies and theories for blockchain. Submitted papers must not substantially overlap with papers that have been published or that are simultaneously submitted to a journal or a conference with proceedings. Papers must be clearly presented in English, must not exceed 8 pages in IEEE Computer Society proceedings format (or up to 10 pages with the pages over length charge), including tables, figures, references and appendices. Papers will be selected based on their originality, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation assessed by at least three reviewers. All submitted papers will be judged through double-blind reviews, where the identities of the authors are withheld from the reviewers. As an author, you are required to preserve the anonymity of your submission, while at the same time allowing the reader to fully grasp the context of related past work, including your own. Papers that do not conform to our double-blind submission policies will be rejected without review. Submission of a paper should be regarded as a commitment that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and attend the conference to present the work. Blockchain 2018 reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from the digital library and indexing services), if the paper is not presented at the conference. During the symposium, scientists and engineers in both academia and industry are invited to present their work on concurrent and parallel systems (multicore, multithreaded, heterogeneous, clustered systems, distributed systems, grids, clouds, and large scale machines).
