The recent advances in internet technologies and social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, have created outstanding opportunities for individuals to connect, communicate or comment on issues or events of their interests. Social networks are dynamic and evolving in nature; they also involve a huge number of users. Frequently, the information related to a certain concept is distributed among several servers. This brings numerous challenges to researchers, particularity in the data mining and machine learning fields. The purpose of International Conference on Social Networks Analysis, Management and Security(SNAMS-2022) is to provide a forum for researchers to present and discuss their work which is related to social network analysis. The SNAMS 2022 is col-located with the 8th IEEE International Symposium on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IoTSMS). SNAMS 2022 aims to investigate the opportunities and in all aspects of Social Networks. In addition, it seeks for novel contributions that help mitigating SNAMS challenges. The IoT is about to enable a range of new capabilities and services far beyond today’s offerings. It will fundamentally change how people go about their lives. The number of objects connected to the Internet is set to reach 30.9 billion by 2025. Cisco estimates the number will be close to 25 billion objects by 2025. Others believe the actual number will be even higher with the assumption that any object with a simple micro controller and on-off switch will be connected to the Internet in the near feature. The scale of the IoT is set to have a major economic, social and environmental impacts; the intersection of which forms the future sustainable growth. The IEEE Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IoTSMS 2022) aims at soliciting original ideas on the broad area of IoT including challenges and opportunities, concepts and applications and future trends. The IoTSMS aims to facilitate discussions among academics and IoT practitioners and make positive contributions to the field. Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished manuscripts. Submitted papers should be in accordance with IEEE format, and will be reviewed by at least two expert reviewers in terms of relevance, originality, contribution, correctness, and presentation. The Digital Twin provides an advanced solution to replicate this physical world into a digital clone of it. It is bound to the physical world in real-time allowing it to run simulations on, and understand system patterns, and using AI it allows to learn, predict, and act to improve the provided services (i.e. to save time and money, reduce carbon, to preserve natural resources, to improve safety, etc.). This wave of innovations trends to an interconnectedness that enables the metaverse. In other words, the metaverse provides an exciting immersive experience in a 3d world providing a flexible manner to interact and collaborate with the real-world digital clone. Everything modeled in the real-world Metaverse nears the status of its physical twin including interactions and relations between everything else. To this end, a huge amount of data has to be collected and managed to put heavy challenges on the networking and computing systems. On the other hand, these technologies have strict boundaries related to the security and the privacy of the collected data. By applying the power of the blockchain, new ways to secure, store and manipulate the data can be provided to eliminate boundaries of what can be provided. The potential is limitless to track, manage data and create patterns, and trends, and detect anomalies. The purpose of this workshop is to elaborate on and emphasize the key aspects to secure the metaverse. The workshop welcomes original research and innovative solutions on the above subjects as well as the case studies that explore the potential exploitation of blockchain in the Digital Twin and the Metaverse. Research may cover and focus on either the fundamental methodological studies or the use case and application demonstrations. New applications, such as virtual reality and smart building control, have emerged due to the large number of resources and services brought by cloud computing. However, the delay-sensitive applications face the problem of large latency, especially when several smart devices and objects are getting involved in human’s life such as the case of smart cities or Internet of Things. Therefore, cloud computing is unable to meet the requirements of low latency, location awareness, and mobility support. To solve this problem, researchers have introduced a trusted and dependable solution through the Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing (FMEC) to put the services and resources of the cloud closer to users, which facilitates the leveraging of available services and resources in the edge networks. By this, we are moving from the core (cloud data centers) to the edge of the network closer to the users. FMEC dependability is based on providing user centric service. The purpose of Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing is to run the heavy real-time applications at the network edge directly using the billions of connected mobile devices. Several features enable the Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing to be a perfect paradigm to the aforementioned purpose, which are the dense geographical deployment of servers, supporting mobility and the closeness to users. As in every new technology, some challenges face the vision of the Fog and the Mobile Edge Computing, which are the administrative policies and security concerns (i.e. secure data storage, secure computation, network security, data privacy, usage privacy, location privacy, etc). FMEC 2022 conference aims to investigate the opportunities and requirements for Mobile Edge Computing dominance. In addition, it seeks for novel contributions that help mitigating Mobile Edge Computing challenges.
