I have used the strong expression "black hole" to say that the information services part of OGSA is very important, concrete work on it is more and more needed, but there is nobody working on it. Location: National Technical University of Athens Zografou Campus, Iroon Polytexneiou 9, 15780 Zografou Multimedia Ampitheatre, the library building ground floor February 17, Friday 9am-5pm Direction from Divani Caravel Hotel: We will meet at hotel lobby 8:30am and take taxi to NTUA. It will take 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. In case you prefer to use public transportation (it will take 30-45 minutes): From “Evangelismos” station near by hotel, take line 3 metro to “Katehaki” station (4th stop). From “Katehaki” station, take bus number 242 to NTUA Administration Building. Bus departs 15 and 45 every hour from Metro station. Library building is the next to the Administration Building. It has published a number of documents and more are in the pipeline. A number of fellow WGs are also busy refining parts of the architecture. But perhaps in some ways the group, its activities, and aims are a black box to many people in GGF. To bridge this communication gap this panel will explore the experiences of people working with OGSA; the expectations of people wishing to work with OGSA; as well as attempt to shed more light on the group's activities and objectives." Hi all, As the second session of the OGSA-WG in GGF16 we will be continuing our discussion on information modeling. It's on Wednesday the 15th, at 1:30 pm, on the Mycenae room. We will review the information model for the container, so I'd like to ask the participation of people who are interested in this activity on the execution management design team and on the OGSA-BES-WG. Also, we will be discussing future steps and what information models we will be developing after the one for the container. We could target data or resource selection, so I'd like to ask also the participation people on the OGSA-D-WG and OGSA-RSS-WG who are interested in this activity. Information models are not part of the charter of your WGs and do not affect your specs, but the development of information models in the OGSA-WG's resource management design team needs the requirements and feedback of the area experts of the GGF, that is, people who participate in your WGs. BTW, I'm not cross-posting since I think that all interested people are in the OGSA-WG mailing list, but feel free to coss-post to other mailing lists if you find appropriate. By the way, I'll be talking about the modeling guidelines document, which describes the process by which we develop the models. IBM RSM academic/SDO license

Hi all, I am very happy to announce that Ellen Stokes and Mike Baskey did a GREAT job and closed the loop on licensing procedure. Many thanks Ellen and Mike! GGF is now on the list of standards organizations for the IBM RSM academic/SDO license (so folks can have access to the applications such as the Rational tools OGSA decided to use for info modeling and EMS sequence diagrams). Ellen has her name added to the approver list to shorten the approval time. For people to request access, this is what they need to do.... 1. go to www.ibm.com/university 2. On the right side of the web page under the membership box there is a link called 'apply now' 3. Click that link. 4. To be able to request access, you first need a userid and password....so if you don't have a universal IBM userid and password click on the link labeled 'register' and follow the instructions. 5. Once you have userid and password (or if you already have one), then you need to click on the link labeled 'step 2' to create an academic initiative membership by completing the membership application....follow the instructions after you click on that link. In the application form make sure you indicate that you are requesting this for GGF usage. 6. Once you submit the application, Ellen will be notified shortly thereafter to approve (and there is a backup to approve if she is not around), and once approved, you will receive approval notice and instructions on how to obtain the Rational tools.
