All, I have read the actual 451 report ( 2007 grid adoption report) and it is a very good report on the overall state of adoption. (I also think it would be a good addition to the OGF20 Program). There have been several articles that have been written on the report that highlighted the issue of terminology (e.g. that the term grid may or may not survive or may be replaced by some other term.) So ... my read of the 451 report is that the overall industry is still struggling regarding what to call this next stage in distributed computing (no surprise ...) while real organizations continue to adopt the technologies and solutions and gain competitive advantage. Indeed our recently published Grid Adoption Research Service report?on "Grid Computing - The State of the Market" examines how grid is now being used as a means to achieve all kinds of objectives. I'd be glad to share the findings of this work - 15 in depth studies across a number of vertical markets - with any of the PC (and OGF20).
