Fine. Of course I found yet another UML detail to poke on: Currently, a Category has a type self-reference to related Categories, indicating that for a certain Category instance, other Category instances are related to it. IIRC, this was supposed to allow for building Category clouds (no pun intended), folksonomies, or hierarchies. With the current notation, assuming a parent-child relationship, one can navigate from the parent to the child, but not back. Actually, the backreference is forbidden by definition of navigable associations in UML. Andy and I agreed that this is unwanted. The question now is: do we want to *enforce* a backreference no matter what (a double-sided arrow), or do we want to *allow* backreferences, if necessary (a line with no arrow tips at all). Any opinions on that? Best, Alexander Am 11.08.2010 um 12:26 schrieb Edmonds, AndrewX:
We should be ok [1] with what's there. As said on skype all that needs verifying is directionality of the associations.

One more thing (tm):
I think that the UML figure of the relationships between Resource, Link, and Category is wrong. The arrows indicate inheritance, which is incorrect; it should be just a line (association) or a line with a diamond (aggregation/composition).
I could redo it in OmniGraffle as soon as we are clear about the semantics. Any special format required/expected?

Hi,
I would like to point you to the newest version of the spec:
http://forge.ogf.org/sf/wiki/do/viewPage/projects.occi-wg/wiki/CoreAn d Models
http://forge.ogf.org/sf/wiki/do/viewPage/projects.occi-wg/wiki/HTTPHe a derRendering
http://forge.ogf.org/sf/wiki/do/viewPage/projects.occi-wg/wiki/Infras t ructure
Some changes have happened including:
* renaming Kind to Resource * Cleanup of namespace for schemes in the category and links * added some diagrams etc.
This version includes a lot of rewording and should be more clear on many issues!
Please review it and give us a first shot of feedback!
Cheers,
