Hi,

Not to seem biased towards OVF, libVirt and openNebula  also has a comparable XML descriptor format. Each have their own strengths, although OVF is now under development an accredited standards body. There are other more mature and broader descriptive formats including CIM, UML/XMI and formats by others.

The comparison I use is media formats on the Internet - we had GIFs at the start but PNG has essentially replaced them for patent and other reasons, but JPEGs are better for photos and SVG is finally starting to get its share of the limelight.

   Hi,
In OCCI, what's kind of format for VM description adopted, OVF

Actually we're format agnostic (like the Internet), though we do usually talk about OVF as it has little competition and we're not in the business of writing container formats.
