As you say, if we're not importing any APIs wholesale we should be fine - most of what we'd incorporate passes the obviousness test anyway... it's just when people start talking about commercial APIs as "starting points" that I break out into a cold sweat.
Starting point does not mean we copy Sun Cloud API or anything like that...There are more ways then that! And I'm sure that is what Alexis meant in his proposal on howto move on... Cheers, -Thijs
