Elixir implementation of OCCI

Hi all, I've developed an implementation of OCCI with Elixir language: exocci. Elixir is built on top of erlang platform but is largely inspired by Ruby for the syntax (Jose Valim, founder of Elixir, is a former core developer of Ruby). One of Elixir strength is its capacity to write DSL... which is particularly useful for OCCI. exocci then defines a DSL for defining categories. Examples can be found in tests: https://github.com/erocci/exocci/tree/master/test So far, I've developed: * implementation of core concepts with associated DSL for defining kind, mixin, attributes, actions. * a store for creating/deleting/... entities with filtering DSL Basically, less more features than erocci but far more easy way to use it, I hope :) Any feedback welcome ! Evolution proposal in "OCCI Platform" specification

Dear OCCI team, We at OCCIWare project (www.occiware.org) are using OCCI Platform to model and deploy/configure software applications in the cloud. But we quickly came to the conclusion that the current "OCCI Platform" spec is too uncomplete, as we needed to extend it to cover some basic issues. For instance, an application component (eg. a software component, like a database or an app server) will first be installed (we call that "deployed"), then configured, prior to managing its lifecycle (start/stop and so on). OCCI Platform assumes the component is already installed and configured (it provides only "inactive" and "active" states with "start" and "shttps://github.com/gibello/occi-wgtop" actions), or that install/configure/start is a single action (which is not true). What we propose here is adding 2 states ("undeployed" and "deployed") and 3 actions ("deploy", "configure" and "undeploy") in both the component and the application states (all modifications are located in chapters 3.1 and 3.2 of the OCCI Platform spec: figures 2 and 3 + tables 3 and 5). Of course, the new states and transitions can be considered optional by implementers, which would make things as simple as before for minimal use cases. Attached, the new OCCI Platform spec we propose. We cloned the OCCI specifications repository (redmine) on github, and the commits can be found here : https://github.com/gibello/occi-wg (simply "git clone" the repo, then "make" to build the specs). Special Session at CLOSER (and why it's not in my plans)

A member of this WG asked me yesterday whether I was about to launch another Special Session at the upcoming CLOSER. Indeed, I have considered and discarded this option, and the reasons are the following: -) cost: the registration fee at CLOSER is high, and we do not have enough return from such investment, since -) we might as well publish our research elsewhere, maybe in higher impact conferences/journals and -) publishing to several distinct conferences/journals in open sessions would finally improve OCCI outreach: as a matter of fact the audience of the last Special Session was mostly made of WG members. So, the past experience was fine but we might look for alternatives as well, and I propose: -) a no-fee un-conference on our own: we have a rather active meetup group about Cloud Computing here in Trentino, and they would certainly appreciate. But Pisa is fine too. This is what I can put on the plate; -) run for a OCCI-specific workshop at a higher level conference (IEEE or the like). But I do not see much improvement wrt CLOSER SS. JSON Rendering

Dear All, I have been looking at the specifications for the JSON rendering, dated 19th September 2016, for the OCCI 1.2 version with an aim to implementing this for the current version of my cloud provisioning software. I am a little confused about the rendering to be performed for collections of resource identifiers that would be returned by a GET /compute/ The specification seems to suggest that complete resource instance renderings are to be returned instead of the previous short hand list of locations.
