Hi Jens, This sounds good to me. Wolfgang Ziegler and I talked briefly about upcoming opportunities and think that the EGI event makes more sense for OGF to pursue than either the CAC (Boston September 2015) or UCC (Cyprus Dec. 2015) conferences at this time, although OGF does co-sponsor the AMGCC’15 workshop. Perhaps we can advertise these other events as opportunities at which interested OGF groups might meet, and encourage a larger gathering at the the EGI event. It would be good, however, this time to make sure that the OGF plenary talks and other portions of the program are better integrated into the main EGI program than they were last time. By the way, the update that I delivered on OGF progress at the NIST event this week (their cloud computing forum and workshop VIII) was very well received, and I got many positive comments from people about OGF’s approach and progress. Perhaps we can put together a short list of upcoming OGF group meeting opportunities to be posted on the web site and on the OGF calendar there? Response from the OCCI WG about meeting in Bari in November for the EGI forum would be useful, to be able to plan ahead of time. Hi all, With Olivier Barais, in CC, with which I am working on the OCCIware project, we would like to enhance the core specification with a way to constrain the Category of resources pointed out by occi.core.src and occi.core.target attributes of a link. For instance, in the infrastructure extension, while it is specified (and easily make sense) a NetworkInterface link must be linked to a compute and a network instance, there is no formal way to define this constraint. A proposal would be to add new type of Category, sub-type of Kind, with following attributes: - parent: instantiated as http://schemas.ogf.org/occi/core#link - occi.core.src.type: additional attribute, type category id - occi.core.target.type: additional attribute, type category id The name of this type of Category could be "TypedLinkKind". What do you think of this ? End of public comment period for OCCI 1.2 is today

Just a reminder that the announced public comment period ends today for the proposed recommendation documents for OCCI 1.2 (the same period ended last month for the informational document for OCCI monitoring). Per the usual OGF procedure, nothing prevents further comments from being received and processed by the group after the public comment period, but this marks the end of the required period. It's up to the OCCI group to evaluate, incorporate and/or resolve these comments. It can at its choice request an extension of this period or, if changes incorporated into any given document are extensive, choose to request an additional comment period. Once the group is happy with any given document or set of documents, the group chooses when to submit them to the Editor for further review by the GFSG. Good luck and I'm sure any questions you might have will be willingly answered by Greg Newby (OGF Editor), Richard Hughes-Jones (Area Director for Infrastructure), or Jens Jensen (Vice President of Standards). Hi, I'm looking for tools to test compliance regarding the OCCI specification and found doyouspeakocci, but it's offline. Also I stumbled across mentions of a OCCI Test Matrix, but no official information or documents. Are there other tools or methods for this purpose? What are your advices for proving OCCI compliance? Meeting opportunities for OGF, collaborative opportunities at EGI community forum, and workshops at UCC 2015 7-10 Dec 2015 Cyprus

Hi, As mentioned on the TAGPMA call today, as relayed by Jens, OGF will be planning various group meetings and has requested a workshop (possibly to be co-located with the AARC meeting) at the EGI Community Forum 10-12 November 2015 in Bari, Italy. Please note that this is the week immediately preceding Supercomputing 2015 in Austin, Texas, which might also be a useful time to exchange notes among members of the community. In addition, it might be of interest to note the following workshops that are advertised to be part of the Utility and Cloud Computing 2015 conference 7-10 Dec 2015 in Cyprus. Many of these touch on topics of mutual interest to communities of interest for distributed computing. It may be possible to organize a Cloud Plugfest between OGF and any other interested communities at one or more of these events. Please let us know if there are opportunities to meet elsewhere that you think would be useful to note. There events that may support one or more communities of interest to OGF include the XSEDE 2015 meeting at the end of July in St. Louis and the FAS* meetings in Boston in September 2015. Personally I would like to concentrate on a few opportunities of interest that are likely to gather a critical mass of our community (e.g., the EGI meeting in Bari), and start to plan for 2016 with a better lead time for the future. ISO/IEC JTC1 October Dublin meeting logistics

FYI, I would like to present OGF's work, other the help of our two new VPs, on topics as appropriate related to the work of this committee at its meeting in Dublin, Ireland coming up this October. OGF already has a Category A liaison relationship with JTC1, and I would like OGF to do the work to get classified as a Publicly Available Specification (PAS) submitter.
