A paper about OCCI monitoring...

...has been accepted at Closer 2014 <http://closer.scitevents.org/>. The content is similar to that of the document currently proposed to this WG, but it has been made more readable to reach a wider audience. In particular, there is an introductive section explaining the basics of the OCCI model. It will be presented by myself on April 4th in Barcelona. Talk and paper on hypermedia in design

OCCI folks, I ran into the following paper, also presented as a talk at WS-REST this weekend, and thought you might like to see it. I'd be interested in your response! Paper: Pragmatic Hypermedia: Creating a Generic, Self-Inflating API Client for Production Use by Pete Gamache, Localytics, Inc. Boston, Massachusetts, USA http://petegamache.com/wsrest2014-gamache.pdf Talk: Better Laziness Though Hypermedia http://petegamache.com/wsrest2014-gamache-slides.pdf In general, I heard a thread running through the conference of "%$^&*() the API; we just want good libraries." I thought that was a bit disturbing and short-sighted, but understandable, and perhaps could be cured by a better design pattern. Hypermedia seems to be one [possible contributor to better design. OCCI group members, FYI. Please review the user survey link below and mount a serious campaign to get OCCI (through OCCI-OS or any other appropriate means) supported permanently in OpenStack. (Same goes for other projects in which we have successfully been able to get a pilot project or interface!) News: I will fund a CAC project at TTU to put students on appropriate implementation projects to support this and other related topics if you will tell them what to do! I think others would also at other institutes, if you will give them a little direction. The EGI Federated Cloud and other spinoff efforts are also adding significantly to the boost for efforts on standards and standards-based approaches. Please repeat and re-tweet!
