Dear all, I am Jean Parpaillon. I am really interested in the OCCI I use through CompatibleOne project [0]. I have been extensively using SNMP by the past for managing heterogeneous systems and I consider OCCI to be a good candidate for a simple and universal standard for cloud systems. In the CompatibleOne project, we have been extended OCCI models for various APIs, including SLA management, monitoring, etc and now trying to address PaaS. We also working on generating OCCI servers automatically from formalized models (in XML). We are very interested in sharing our ideas and see how they could improve the OCCI ecosystem. A first step would be to participate in the bi-weekly call. Could you tell when will the next one will take place ? OCCI-monitoring: minor revision available

After some mail exchanges with Andrew and Ralph, there is a minor revision: -) added one session "3 - Addressing simple environments" to give the guidelines and warnings for simplified configurations; -) the transport of measurement data inside the monitoring infrastructure has been rendered with opaque identifiers (String) in metric and input attributes; an adjustment to the definition of scope was deemed appropriate; examples have been fixed to take this into account, and other bugs in the examples are fixed. http://redmine.ogf.org/projects/occi-wg/repository/revisions/monitoring/raw… -- Augusto Ciuffoletti Dipartimento di Informatica Università di Pisa 56100 - Pisa (Italy)

Dasein Cloud

Hi, Just to inform you that there is a cool project going on called Dasein-Cloud. http://dasein-cloud.sourceforge.net/ On the website it reads: Dasein Cloud is an Open Source Java API made available by enStratus Networks LLC under the terms of the Apache License 2.0. This API specifies cloud-independent interfaces for enabling an application to access resources across multiple clouds. If you are interested have a look - and it might be great to implement OCCI in their someday! New revision of the Monitoring document available

Hi all, I have just upload in the repository the new revision of the document: http://redmine.ogf.org/projects/occi-wg/repository/revisions/monitoring/raw… Providing a straightforward solution for simple use cases was a topic that emerged as relevant during last call, and this revision relaxes some constraints on the monitoring API in order to meet this intent. Basically, now monitoring mixins may be associated also to Entities not uniquely dedicated to monitoring, thus introducing the possibility to implement monitoring without instantiating specialized entities. The appendix is dedicated to four use cases of increasing complexity that illustrate the above points, the simplest being managed in an extremely simple way. Also regarding examples, I do not use the http rendering but a more readable representation of the involved resources. Dear all, We have just published an expanded keynote line-up for the OpenNebula Conference 2013 (http://blog.opennebula.org/?p=4707) that includes experts from leading institutions using OpenNebula. The first ever OpenNebula Conference will be held on Sept. 24-26 in Berlin and is intended to serve as a meeting point for OpenNebula cloud users, developers, administrators, builders, integrators and researchers. As OCCI is one of the most used OpenNebula APIs, we think it would very valuable to share how you are using/developing these components on top of OpenNebula. OCCI API document

Hi Ralf, you said that you wanted to start working on splitting the OCCI HTTP Rendering document into a OCCI API and an OCCI Text rendering document. Did you already do anything in that regard? I have some spare time this week and would be glad to push the work on the OCCI API document. So if you could send me whatever you have, I'd be glad to continue from there. Cheers, Florian
