Hi, Just to inform you that there is a cool project going on called Dasein-Cloud. http://dasein-cloud.sourceforge.net/ On the website it reads: Dasein Cloud is an Open Source Java API made available by enStratus Networks LLC under the terms of the Apache License 2.0. This API specifies cloud-independent interfaces for enabling an application to access resources across multiple clouds. If you are interested have a look - and it might be great to implement OCCI in their someday! OGF 34 is approaching and I finally found the time to request a BoF session to start a new Cloud Interoperability group. I would like to invite all of you and everyone you know who might be interested to join the session and help start the CI-WG. Besides that, I would be glad to help organize some OCCI sessions at OGF 34. Who will be able to attend? What could be the topics for the sessions? The summary for the CI-WG session is: Interoperability in Cloud Computing is of increasing importance. Several cloud standards have emerged in recent years and implementations for them are starting to show up. Customers and providers interested in using the standards are requiring best-practise documents for using or implementing the different standards and also rely on information how they can combine multiple standards. This BoF session will present current challenges in Cloud Interoperability and aims at collecting ideas, approaches and experience in this area as starting point for a new Cloud Interoperability Working Group. This group shall also serve as a forum for engagement with other standards organizations and exploration of interoperability of OGF cloud standards work, and of software based on that work, with standards and software from other organizations. The agenda for the CI-WG session is: * Introduction to cloud standardization * Overview of current challenges in cloud interoperability * Collecting ideas, approaches and experience in this area as starting point for a new Cloud Interoperability Working Group. * Survey of existing plug-fests and other interoperability points of contact * Collaboration with other organizations Cheers, Florian

Preliminary JSON rendering draft, discussion material

Hi all, I won't be able to attend OGF in Lyon, too bad but that's how it is. Since I wouldn't want you to think I am sneaking away from all the hard work I put together a pre-pre-draft of a possible JSON rendering. I have commit'ed a json_rendering.tex file to the occi-wg repository and have attached the generated PDF. Please look at this document as a basis for further discussions. It is very far from being complete and lots of things could certainly be more elegant. Highlights are: - Filtering through query parameters. I.e. no need to use the X-OCCI-Attribute to transfer filtering info in GET requests. - Pagination of collections. - Attribute type information (e.g. float, integer, string, etc) relayed through the Category definition. pyOCNI - new OCCI

Hi, I am happy to announce the first release of pyOCNI https://github.com/jordan-developer/PyOCNI pyOCNI is a python implementation of an extended OCCI with a JSON serialization and a cloud networking extension. I will attend the next plugfest meeting, where we can have a detailed discussion about pyOCNI. pyOCNI is developed conjointly for SAIL Project ( www.sail-project.eu/ <http://www.sail-project.eu/> ) and CompatibleOne Project ( www.compatibleone.org <http://compatibleone.org/> ) P.S. The Storage Networking Industry Association's Cloud Storage Initiative (SNIA CSI) and the Open Grid Forum (OGF) are conducting the first in a series of international cloud plugfests slated for 2012. What: Cloud Plugfest sponsored by SNIA CSI/OGF When: February 28 through March 01, 2012 Where: Dusseldorf, DE (Primary Location) Who's invited? All cloud implementers are invited to participate either in person or remotely. Participants need not be members of the SNIA, CSI or OGF and the cost to attend is FREE!* Why attend? The cloud plugfest will offer a highly collaborative, vendor-neutral, environment for developers and vendors to perform interoperability testing of CDMI and OCCI implementations. The previous Cloud Plugfest, held in September 2011 in Santa Clara, California and remotely in Dusseldorf, Germany, attracted over 20 developers from nine companies.
