I'm not entirely sure what you mean here. The connection between domains has been defined by the NSI group to use the isAlias construct. Anything else may not work properly. If you would want to disregard that (and probably break some pathfinders), you would have to include unidirectional Link elements, and then create a BidirectionalLink element that contains those.
