Attached are 3 proposed re-workings of figures 5 and 9 for the Network Services Framework document.

 

Figure 5 has been split into 2 diagrams 5a and 5b.

 

Figure 5a identifies the Service Plane and explains its relationship to the existing well known management, control and transport planes.  It also introduces the different types of network modelling used on each plane.  It also shows which parts are in-scope and which are out-of-scope for the NSF.

 

Figure 5b shows the way that this model is intended to be used to manage Connections.

 

Figure 9 shows a more detail on the representation of networks, in particular how STPs connect Networks.
