Attached is revise strawman doc.  If Joe and Chin and others can edit it further and send it back to me that would be good.

I would like to discuss it further on Wed at our call.  I suggest that everyone look at it and if they have edits or suggestions send them to me or to the list.  I will try to update the doc as soon as possible.

I have been out a lot for the last  week, my father in law died on wed after a couple weeks of fairly intense events and issues that I have been mostly supporting my wife with.  The interment will be next Thursday, so there will be a couple more days then.   That is why I haven't been more active in dealing with the edits.

I look forward to the discussion next wed.

John

Tomohiro, Inder,
Attached is an edited copy of John's strawman architecture document.
There some concepts in the document that I don't like - one is 'atomic' functions in the introduction.  I think this may be an attempt to bring in the ITU-T concept of atomic functions, but it is not well explained and does not add much.
Also I don't like John's concept of 'connection levels' - I don't see how this adds anything.  I think he is trying to explain layering relationships, so I have replaced it with 'client signal' which I thinks should be more intuitive for networking people to understand. Similarly, by 'customer information' I think John also means 'client signal'.
I have also made some changes which I hope improve readability and consistency.
I think it would help to have an agreed view among the co-chairs on these points, so any comments would be appreciated.
Guy
