Peoples, Here is an updated error handling document. At the request of SURFnet I have added the following two error values: 00502 CHILD_SEGMENT_ERROR Child connection segment error is present. No local varables are added for this error; however, any variables included in the child segment errors are propagated. 00503 MESSAGE_DELIVERY_ERROR Failed message delivery to peer NSA. Include the providerNSA (target) of the failed message. Please have a look at the edits. Tomohrio/Chin - Make sure you are comfortable with the use of 00502 and 00503 values. You may want the errors classified in a different error family. John

detection of not participating uPA in pathTrace by AG

Hi, While implementing the pathTrace as described in gfd-r-nsi-policy-public-comment-v6 I stumbled on the following. If an uPA does not support pathTrace it is possible for an AG to detect this if it receives a pathTrace without a path element in the reserve.cf. The text states: If an AG has done additional path finding on the reserve.rq it MUST assemble the child path within the pathTrace element in topological order. The order number in the segment MUST start at zero (0) and MUST be incremented by one (1) for each new segment. Does this mean that the AG should only number the segments from path elements that were actually returned by its children and ignore empty pathTrace elements, or should the AG detect an empty pathTrace element and add an empty segment to the trace? CS 2.1 cannot send only the parameters to be modifed

Dear NSI WG members, The CS 2.1 document states in section 15.7 that only the elements to be modified are included in a modify request. However, in the schema the p2p parameters directionality, capacity, sourceSTP and destSTP are not optional. As a result the example modify requests in figure 154 and 155 will not pass schema validation. If the four parameters are made optional in the schema it will also be possible to leave them out in the initial reserve request, which will cause problems because all four of them belong to the minimum set of parameters in this stage. Or the schema is left as is making it mandatory to always send the minimum set of parameters in every modify request, in this case section 15.7 should be updated to reflect this.
