Two meanings are associated with this state: 1. All child NSAs have acknowledged receipt of the provision command 2. All child NSAs have confirmed provisioning complete Discussion of Issue: Should we refine the state-machine to disambiguate these two different understandings of 'Provisioned'. A proposal has been made to add a new message 'Connection-State up'. Resolution of Issue:

This means there is no way to determine the direct parent NSA associated with a reservation. Discussion of Issue: It was agreed in the week meeting that the requesterNSA should be returned with the query result for both summary and detailed results. Resolution of Issue: RequesterNSA should be returned with the query result for both summary and detailed results.

An STP is defined as a OGF URN that is composed of the NSnetwork and localId already. Is this asking me to break out the STP into two discrete elements?

Determining the Network of an STP

During today's call, Jerry brought up the following issue: (Jerry, please correct me if I'm wrong, and sorry if I mixed up the NSI with the NML terminology). A path computation engine needs to know in which domain a STP lies. There are solutions to this: 1. The domain can be inferred by parsing the URN identifier of the STP. 2. Each domain announces a full list of it's STPs, and the path computation engine keeps a table of all STP-Domain relations. 3. Each connection request must not only list the URN of the STP, but the URN of the domain as well. The current solution is (1), but that conflicts with the choice in NML that a URN may not contain the domain identifier and should not be interpreted/parsed. Solution (2) or (3) do not have this drawback. Solution (2) seems less scalable compared to solution (3). Regards, Freek

NSI protocol versioning and interface discovery

Peoples, I had hoped to get time in Delft to go over the new interface Discovery service but we ran out of time. I have submitted the WSDL and supporting schema to the repository and attached a short slide package discussing the queryServices() operation. Please have a look and provide comments. If there are specific schema changes you would like to see please create an issue in code.google.com to track them. Hi all, I don't have a fully crystalized version of the ToC yet, but my general idea was to use the journal paper to summarize the Terena paper as an introduction and general description of the NSI work. Then I'd like to spend a bit more space to the testbed, and results from the test-bed so far. And finally I hope to get a bit more specific about NSI v2.0 to discuss as conclusion and future plans. I think NSI, NML, and AutoGOLE projects - since they are related and form an important component for much future global virtualization work - ought to make a substantive showing here. These three technologies will have made substantial progress and demos over this fall, and will be seeing considerable global deployment in both experimental and early production environments in the spring of 2013, so we need to be presenting the engineering/deployment issues to this community. NORDUnet will be providing workshops on these programs internally to the Nordic community this fall... perhaps we could offer such a workshop at TIP as well.... Thoughts?
