I have updated the NSI connection service protocol document to reflect the current discussions. This is intended to incorporate both the NSI connection service protocol details and sufficient contextual discussion to allow this protocol to be implemented. Session at Internet2?

Hi all- I think we should request and NSI session for Internet2. There will probably be a GLIF session also... I am of a mind to keep these separate as there are a lot of GLIF issues that are not NSI issues per se. I'd like us to present an NSI update which will include the CS spec and the NSI demo at Rio. And perhaps some progress on NSI Topology and futures roadmap coming out of Rio. The more we can promote this as an open inclusive process, the more uptake we'll get. Hopefully this will encourage others to get involved and possibly encourage more field trials by US regionals and campuses. Thoughts? Deadline is 24th (tomorrow). If we generally think it is a good idea, I will submit a session request. Jerry

NSI protocol test

Hi all, In PSNC we have a draft implementation of state machine and messaging for NSI, according to recent WSDL files and specification. We would like to find partners who also have their part of code to initiate first testing on interoperability. Our code is currently no integrated with data plane, so we can play with control plane only. Please let me know if anyone is interested. You may also contact Michal Balcerkiewicz (in CC) to discuss details. I would also like to present a simple messaging library, which we can consider to use for NSI purposes. It an implementation of OASIS standard called SMOA Notification (written by PSNC). Adopting it is not a big deal and it solves a lot of playing with messaging itself, so we can focus on real work. In the attachment I placed two docs on this SMOAN so you can take a look. We can discuss it through emails or during next call.
