II. Review of Draft Call for Participation in Reliability and Robustness Workshop

Decisions on content:

·          Workshop will be held at GGF16 in Athens as a ˝ day afternoon session.
·       Specify that the length of talks will be up to 20 minutes. Only presentation will be required.
·       A one-page abstract will be requested from submitters describing content of their proposed talk.
Call will state that there will be a program committee to review submissions.
·       Add statement that “Presenters agree that copies of their presentations will be put on GGF website.”
·       Add “Topics of special interest”:
o       terminology of reliability, dependability, and robustness for grid systems;
o        strategies used by grid manufacturers (software vendors, service providers, etc.) as well as
service consumers for improving reliability (such as checkpointing, failure mitigation techniques,
                     and failure recovery)
o        user experience reports (from business community and academia) on grid reliability
o        grid monitoring (of failure and system performance).

·       Submission Deadline will be January 10, 2006, with notifications of acceptance made on January 20, 2005

The draft call will be disseminated to EGA and other organizations GGF and NIST has contact with and to the
dependable communications community.

Please note: I have also gotten approval for establishing an unofficial
NIST website for the group, which will post the call.

Updated draft call is attached, with changes highlighted in yellow.

III. Review of Draft Research Group Charter

Update CORBA reference to version that includes Fault-Tolerant CORBA and include additional
standards in bibliography:
  GGF Network Management WG
GGF Performance WG  Grid Monitoring Architecture (GMA).

(Note: CORBA reference was updated to 3.0.3.  I added the NM-WG reference though this is an unofficial document.
I could find the GMA only on a non-GGF site. Is it currently referenced by a GGF WG that is now meeting?)

List of research papers will be removed and replaced by a single reference to a separate document that contains papers
(provided for information purposes).

Charter is updated and attached for review (changes highlighted in yellow)..
