All,
Today I officially take the reins as OGF's next president. I am excited by
the opportunities in front of us but we must also have a clear
understanding of what these opportunities require. Our challenge for the
future is to shape the grid concept to meet the evolving spectrum of
application requirements that we see happening all around us. I see this
as the beginning of a new phase for OGF and I hope you all agree.
In the attached OGF GridConnections newsletter, I have outlined a vision
for our community moving forward. I hope you take the time to read it and
provide me your feedback. (The newsletter is also available at:
http://www.ogf.org/News/newscal_newsletter.php.)
We must all stay active and engaged in order to achieve our common goal of
accelerating Grid adoption in science and industry.
I also want to encourage all of you to come to OGF21 where I hope to
further the dialog and encourage a lively debate on the future of our
community. We have made great strides thus far in 2007. Let's continue
that momentum so that we enter 2008 fully prepared to take on the immediate
challenges ahead. Complete information is available at:

On a personal note, it was tremendously gratifying to receive the many
congratulatory emails after the announcement was made of my assuming the
responsibility of President of OGF. Thank you all for your kind words. I
look forward with great optimism and anticipation to the next three years
in OGF.
