[Fwd: [ogsa-wg] Proposed agenda for SLT discussion]

I see from this note that OSGA is considering SLA's and agreements. I'll be unable to attend this session as I will be travelling. Is anyone from GRAAP able and interested in attending? --- Jim -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [ogsa-wg] Proposed agenda for SLT discussion Date: Fri, 27 Apr 2007 07:15:16 -0400 From: Andrew Grimshaw <grimshaw@virginia.edu> To: 'ogsa-wg' <ogsa-wg@ogf.org> Service Level Terms – Monday 4:00-5:30 At the last OGSA F2F we discussed the need to address QoS/SLA’s in OGSA. The first step is to define what is meant, to determine use cases, and therefore requirements. It was noted that just defining terms is difficult and very domain specific and that solving the general problem, for all classes of service, is an open question. We therefore decided to begin with a short session focused on two specific OGSA services: ByteIO and BES. In this session we will introduce the problem, discuss the roles of WS-Agreement and JSDL, and define prototype (strawman) definitions of SLT’s for both services. Proposed Agenda: Agenda bashing Present problem Present examples for ByteIO and BES Discuss role of WS-Agreement and JSDL Next steps and action items -- ogsa-wg mailing list ogsa-wg@ogf.org http://www.ogf.org/mailman/listinfo/ogsa-wg

Hi: I'll participate but I hope the other people would also.. (I am not so good at sales pitch ;-))

Hi again: Given the fact that the main interest in OGSA is to discuss about the SLA's (ie, more on the Guarantee Terms) it would be nice if somebody who has real example of those usage would also be there. (In our project, we used WS-Agreement more for composition/decomposition of complex jobs.) Best Regards Toshi
