Telecon on 9/21

Folks, We will hold a telecon on 9/21. The times are numbers are the usual: Start Time: 10:00 AM Central US 11:00 AM Eastern US 8:00 AM Pacific US 1700 Germany 1600 UK Midnight Japan Dial in numbers: 866-673-8466 or 702-477-6031 code 8578310. The primary topic for this telecon will be plans for GGF the first week of Oct. For those who cannot attend this telecon, please let me and the other chairs know if you plan to attend. Particularly if we've discussed with you in the past about the possiblity of you speaking at this GGF. I would like to get the roster of speakers finalized soon so that we can put the sessions together and give people an idea which session and how much time they will have. thanks. --- Jim

Survey for OGSA-WG F2F meeting back-to-back GGF15

Hi all, and sorry for the cross-posting again. As you already know, OGSA-WG and fellow WGs are planning to have F2F meeting in Boston, back-to-back with GGF15. The meeting will be held on Thursday (9am-6pm) and Friday (8am-3:30pm) at IBM office in Boston (it is 2.2 miles away from GGF15 venue instead of walking distance). Please keep it in mind that this F2F is workshop style technical discussion. If you want to learn OGSA activities in general, "OGSA Status and direction presentation session" on Oct. 3 (Mon) 11am-12:30pm at Berkely/Clarendon room is the one you should join. In order to obtain admission to the F2F venue, please let us know your plan for attendance by answering the following on-line survey. Hi all, and sorry for the cross-posting. OGSA-WG is planning to have F2F meeting in Boston, back-to-back with GGF14. The meeting will be held on Thursday (9am-6pm) and Friday (8am-3pm) at IBM office in Boston, walking distance from GGF15 venue. The following is tentative agenda items we've listed up at Today's OGSA-WG call. - EMS architecture (CDDLM, ACS, GRAAP, RSS, JSDL, BES) - OGSA-naming session - Resource Management (info/data model) - OGSA-BES session - OGSA-data session (?) If you want to have another session or any specific day/time requirements on any of these sessions, please let me know. I am sorry for this late notice. OneOrMore / ExactlyOne

Hi all, A question regarding the two term compositors mentioned in the subject: Should one expect that ExactlyOne is the non-greedy version of OneOrMore? That is, should an implementation attempt to satisfy as many terms of a OneOrMore compositor, whereas for an ExactlyOne compositor it would just quit as soon as there is found a term which is successfully evaluated / executed? In both cases, should it be a requirement for all terms to be valid against the agreement constraints, even if there are terms who satisfy them (the constraints) and were successfully evaluated / executed? Or are the above completely implementation-specific? Best regards, Costas

Look at how one might apply WS-Agreement to the multi-entity (for a single operation) scenario that is EMS. (Cluster girds have a single entity (scheduler?) to handle all resources and requests and so that could fit the two party model of WS-Agreement but I was thinking of EMS outside of this space where responsibility is distributed). CDDLM: Dejan/Stuart: Thanks for attending this session. Sorry for any mixup here. I hope you did get something useful from Jim's presentation. Based on our discussions around CDDLM, here is what I captured: a. Hiro will send out the pointers to the interaction of EMS services for the 3 scenarios that was developed at the last OGSA F2F. b. Stuart will take a look and see how the CDDLM architecture would address these scenarios and start and email thread in the OGSA mail list. c. Ravi would collect any difficult or long drawn discussion topics (as suggested by the respondents) as agenda items for discussion at the next OGSA telecom. d. The OGSA WG will study the high level scenarios from CDDLM that were the model for the CDDLM specs. Need to reconcile these into the EMS/OGSA space. We will *not* have a parallel small team meeting this week but will schedule over the longer term (beyond GGF15) to do so as an ongoing activity as we work to resolve the approaches. Speaking for myself right now: I would suggest that an output of this activity be the OGSA EMS diagram fleshed out with the provisioning services from CDDLM (this could be either a blowing up of the provisioning box or a refactoring that may be dictated by this joint activity). Thoughts? OGSA: Anyone on the call today, please let me know if I have missed any of the outcomes of the discussion here. Any other suggestions and topics for discussions and/or focus with CDDLM and GRAAP are welcome. Thanks! Ravi
