It encrypts all traffic to eliminate eavesdropping, connection hijacking, and other attacks. In addition, OpenSSH provides a large suite of secure tunnelling capabilities, several authentication methods, and sophisticated configuration options. Project/community/organisation maintaining the software: https://www.openssh.com/ Scope of deployment (number of instances and by which organisations): for C-SCALE FedEarthData, 3 providers from SURF, GRNET, TuW.
