GOCDB has received a request to add a new service type, summarised below. As per the lightweight review process, please raise any concerns about this proposal on the GGUS ticket by 22/03/2023: https://ggus.eu/index.php?mode=ticket_info&ticket_id=160848

· Name of the service: eu.egi.readonly.xrootd

· High-level description of the service functionality: Service type representing the xrootd endpoints that from the outside are read-only accessible

· Project/community/organisation maintaining the software: https://xrootd.slac.stanford.edu/

· Scope of deployment (number of instances and by which organisations): a hundred in the EGI Federation
