Correct - GridForge based on SourceForge is in retired and in read-only mode for historical purposes only.

Note we can and do support internal git repositories on our own out of Redmine, which could for example be masters for or linked to / synchronized with GitHub (which although everyone uses it, it is worth pointing out is a commercial company). 

We are currently evaluating our options for a formal OGF presence on GitHub, as this is quite a generic topic now, with many OGF groups maintaining auxiliary documents in one form or another on git repositories in both locations.
