Subject: Request for new GOCDB service type wlcg.xrootd.tape
Hi all,
GOCDB has received a request to add a new service type, summarised below. As per the lightweight review process, please raise any concerns about this proposal on the GGUS ticket by
12/09/2024: https://ggus.eu/index.php?mode=ticket_info&ticket_id=167978
* Name of service type (lowercase): wlcg.xrootd.tape
* High-level description of the service functionality (255 characters max): this type allows downtimes to be declared for tape services, in particular those provided by endpoints that also serve disk storage, which need not be down at the same time; it is the XRootD equivalent of wlcg.webdav.tape
* Project/community/organization maintaining the software: a number of storage middleware providers (dCache, XRootD, etc.)
* Scale of deployment (number of instances and by which organizations): all WLCG T1 sites in EGI, currently 13, plus CERN
* Contact point (name/email address): Maarten Litmaath, Maarten.Litmaath(a)cern.ch<mailto:Maarten.Litmaath@cern.ch>
Thanks,
The GOCDB Team
