I believe this was dictated by either a desire to keep the # of states to a minimum and/or availability of drama_w* functions to differentiate between failed and aborted jobs. We need to put this request to a new Tracker to be addressed during work on the future versions.

Sounds consequent, since we also distinguish between user suspended and system suspended state. The same should hold for the failed status. However, we need to specify if a user-terminated status should only be given when the termination was performed through the DRMAA interface. Peter.
